Practical Inclusivity Training with RSK

Client: RSK Environment (Glasgow team)
Project: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Workshop
Objective: Helping teams turn inclusivity principles into practical workplace actions
The Challenge
RSK wanted to equip their team with the tools to foster a more inclusive working environment, not just by raising awareness of DEIB concepts, but by embedding them into everyday interactions. The focus was on practical, implementable actions that could lead to meaningful change.
Our Approach
We designed a hands-on workshop that explored how small shifts in communication and behaviour can make a workplace more inclusive.
Key areas covered:
- Creating a foundation for inclusive conversations:ย How we interact with colleagues shapes workplace culture. We explored simple ways to make discussions more inclusive through active listening and engagement.
- Rethinking meetings & interruptions: We examined how interrupting can impact inclusivity, particularly for underrepresented groups, and shared strategies to make meetings more balanced and participatory.
- Unconscious bias awareness: Using real-world examples, we discussed how unconscious bias plays out in the workplace and how teams can start to recognise and address it.
- Interactive learning through Routes to Revolutions: Our serious game brought DEIB concepts to life, encouraging participants to engage with different perspectives in a practical way.
- Toolkit & CPD accreditation: Everyone left with a set of tools to support inclusive practices and CPD accreditation for their participation.

The Impact
The session provided a structured, practical introduction to inclusivity in the workplace, encouraging reflection and conversation among participants. The interactive elements, particularly the Routes to Revolutions game, helped bring concepts to life and kept engagement high throughout the day.
Participant Feedback
"I loved how interactive the course was."
"Very friendly atmosphere and felt at ease to engage fully in training."
"Very engaging, at the end of the day when everyone is tired, there was a game to keep people engaged with the session."
"It was a good introduction to general concepts that people donโt usually think of if they donโt have issues with any of the topics mentioned. The game was an interesting approach."

By focusing on small, practical changes, this session helped RSK take steps towards embedding inclusivity further into their daily interactions.
