Turning Circular Design Theory into Industry Action with WRAP

The Challenge

WRAP’s Circular Design Toolkit for Textiles is a robust and research-driven resource, created to guide fashion and textile businesses toward circularity. But like many toolkits, the challenge wasn’t about content, it was about activation.

WRAP wanted to move companies beyond passive learning. They needed a learning experience that would turn strategy into action, something immersive, accessible, and grounded in real business contexts. The brief: help participants understand the four pillars of circular design, and equip them to apply those principles to their own product lines.

The goal wasn’t more PowerPoint. It was actionable learning.

Our Approach

We designed and delivered a series of interactive workshops and masterclasses to bring the Circular Design Toolkit to life, making it practical, collaborative and grounded in real-world decision-making. The programme was structured around:

Workshop 1

A live, virtual session to introduce the circular economy, lifecycle thinking, and how change happens, blending foundational theory with a behaviour change lens.

Workshop 2 (In-person)

A full-day deep dive into the four pillars of circular design. Through a structured cycle of short content bursts and hands-on group activities, participants explored each pillar through the lens of their own products, identifying quick wins, pilot ideas, and actions they could take by next Friday.

Masterclasses

We ran two expert-led masterclasses to extend learning and drive momentum:

  • Masterclass 1: Setting Circular Design Targets – a gamified session to support decision-making and build alignment.
  • Masterclass 2: Communicating Circularity – focused on stakeholder engagement, green claims, and building the internal business case.

The Impact

✔  Shifted mindsets: Helped participants think beyond compliance and towards creative opportunity.
✔  Fostered action: Every session ended with concrete next steps, including actions to be taken “by next Friday.”
✔  Built confidence: Made circular design feel more tangible and less overwhelming.
✔  Created alignment: The gamified and strategic target-setting activities helped businesses align internally on direction.

Built with Purpose. Designed for Impact.

Our goal wasn’t to simplify circularity, it was to make it stick. By combining immersive facilitation, behaviour change principles, and systems thinking, we created an experience that didn’t just educate, it moved people.
